Howdy! I hope to draw on the vast experience of this group.  I'm dealing with a company that has the Information Technology department setup as a division of the Accounting/Finance Department.  This seems to be causing some problems, mostly office politics. I generally try to stay out of office politics, but I would at least like a little more background on this issue as I deal with this company.  My question:  Is it common practice to have an IT Department as a division of accounting?  (The IT manager reports directly to the accounting manager.) If not, what is the more common relationship between IT, Accounting/Finance and the rest of the company? TIA -BDS
